Nine out of ten children come into the foster care system with nothing but the clothes on their backs. In response to this need, Gracie’s Closet provides children in foster care on the south side of metro Atlanta with free clothing (size newborn through teen), baby gear, books and school supplies. Items are either new or gently used, and the environment is like that of a fun store! Our mission is to make foster children feel special and provide them with some of the things they need and deserve.
Gracie’s Closet is open by appointment only, and visits are scheduled on a quarterly basis or after a growth spurt, whichever comes first! Each time they visit, foster children and their foster parents may select a week’s supply of clothing and other necessities. Foster parents are encouraged to return items to the closet when they are no longer needed so that someone else can use them.
