Clothes Less Traveled Thrift Shop Awards Grant Funding

Fayette Youth Protection Homes recently received a $5,000 grant award from The Clothes Less Traveled Thrift Shop as well as a bonus check of $3,000 in honor of Heather Dognazzi and Chuck Powers. Heather is a dedicated member of the Clothes Less Traveled Board of Directors, and Chuck is a volunteer recently recognized for his “Above and Beyond” service to the Clothes Less Traveled. Both Heather and Chuck selected Fayette Youth Protection Homes as their preferred charity for 2011.

Fayette Youth Protection Homes will use the grant award to cover general operating expenses.

Established in 1997, the Clothes Less Traveled Thrift Shop is a non-profit organization located in Peachtree City that resells gently used clothing and household items and then disburses the profits, after expenses, to needy organizations in the community.

FYPH Honored by Wells Fargo Gift

Fayette Youth Protection Homes was honored by Wells Fargo Bank with a $1,000 grant at the company’s Days of Giving celebration at Clayton State University on Nov. 9, 2011.

The donation to Fayette Youth Protection Homes is among contributions to 234 groups to non-profits across Georgia made at community events. The program is in its third year in Atlanta. Who will win the Power Parade this week?

Pictured above is last year’s Power Parade winner, Bray, a 1^st grader at Kedron Elementary. Bray won the Grand Prize, a trip for 4 to Disney World and raised $530.00 for children who have been the victims of abuse, neglect or other tragic circumstances. He made the trip to Disney World a month ago with his dad, uncle, and cousin and had a great time!

Eagle Scout Leadership Clothing Drive

Chris Messina with Boy Scout Troop 73 has organized a clothing donation drive for Gracie’s Closet for his Eagle Scout Leadership service project. The drive will take place on Saturday, October 15 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. 2011 Power Parade Winners

Students at Kedron Elementary raised the most money in the county for the 2011 Fayette Youth Power Parade. Times Well Spent

Pam Reid with “Times Well Spent” recently conducted an etiquette workshop call “Manners Matter” for 4th and 5th grade girls. The workshop was conducted on site at the FYPH office, and all proceeds from the workshop were donated to Fayette Youth Protection Homes.
